Joseph Cheung, a young man, struggles with his position within his family’s powerful Sung Society. He embarks on a journey filled with internal conflict as he navigates the complex world of underworld politics and personal identity. Davina represents the challenge of a woman overcoming obstacles in the predominantly male business sector amidst the foreboding backdrop of an impending worldwide conflict. The heartbroken Irina Donsky, a Russian immigrant, also experiences significant challenges, creating a complex web of interconnected lives shaped by destiny and circumstances.
