5 out of 5 stars
The Shanghai Circle by Tony Henderson is a feast for readers who like to read about the underworld. The book takes us back to the days in 1936 when the whole city was collapsing and the clouds of war had started to appear in the sky. Tony Henderson conducts deep research and then interprets the story in his writing style.
The main characters of the story include a Russian exile, the Triad boss, and Taipan. The lives of these entangle in such a way that the plot becomes exciting as it moves ahead. The book has a variety of stories, from the glamour of the city to its dark reality, where no one knows what lies ahead. The character development is done meticulously. Every character we carve comes to life as we keep moving ahead to the next page.
The book is written clearly and concisely. The flawless editing has helped me enjoy it. There are no grammatical errors or typos. The captivating writing style of the author has impressed me. I liked Chapter 17 of the book. The chapter contains a meticulous sex story between the two characters. The author has beautifully crafted the love story, which makes you feel as if you are one of the characters.
Negatives: There are no specific negatives about the book. The note is only that the book contains erotic content and profanity.
Overall, it is an amazing read for those who have a fascination with crime drama, romance, and mysteries. The twists and turns in the book are something that keeps you tied up all the time. I again appreciate the author for beautifully crafting every single situation from the real references.
I would like to rate this book 5 out of 5. 1 star for a captivating writing style. 1 star for the thorough research. 1 star for amazingly developing the characters. 1 star for creating timely suspense. One star for maintaining a sense of reality
